01. About

A bit about me

I'm a senior front end developer at the NHS Benchmarking Network in Manchester, where I've worked my way up from a junior role over the past five years. Most of my day-to-day is now in Vue and Nuxt 3, though I started out on a long-running Angular and Bootstrap codebase and still dip into it.

Alongside development I line-manage a small team, run code reviews, and turn requirements from stakeholders into features that actually ship. I make heavy use of GitHub Copilot and Claude Code day to day, both for speed and as a second pair of eyes on my work.

Outside of work I take on the occasional contract build, usually a Nuxt and Tailwind site done with a designer. I moved to Manchester in 2020 after finishing a Computer Science degree in Iceland, and I've been here since.

Line manage a small team of developers, including regular 1-to-1s and task troubleshooting.
Gather requirements and turn user stories into front end features, then delegate and review the work.
Oversee deployments to test and live systems and keep an eye on what breaks.
Research new front end tooling and bring in what is actually worth adopting.
Mostly working in Vue and Nuxt 3 now, with Copilot and Claude Code part of the daily workflow.

Took the lead on feature development across several projects and mentored junior developers.
Maintained and developed the public-facing Squarespace site alongside the main codebase.
Completed an AgilePM course and started running planning in line with it.
Kept the Angular 9 / TypeScript / Bootstrap codebase going while picking up Vue and Nuxt.

Learned the codebase alongside senior developers to start clearing feature and bug tickets.
Handled day-to-day website maintenance, fixes and small updates.
